The Barns at Wesleyan Hills Wedding (Middletown, CT) :: Jacob + Melissa :: with Sara

What. A. Wedding! Kicking off Friday with Melissa + Jacob’s beautiful Middletown, CT wedding at The Barns at Wesleyan Hills. (You’ve got to see Jacob’s face during their first look – what a sweet moment!)

OLAS: Describe your day, in a word:

Melissa: I’ll try to avoid the clichè of “perfect” (even though it absolutely was) and say “everything” instead. Our wedding day was everything we could’ve asked for and more. The day absolutely exceeded any and all expectations we had. I would relive that day over and over and over if I could!

OLAS: What’s the one moment you remember, above all, about your wedding day? What made it feel so special/memorable?

Melissa: Gosh… picking one moment is SO hard. I would say it’s a tie between the first look – seeing Jacob get all teary-eyed and speechless, which I’ve only really seen one other time, when he proposed AND our first dance. We danced to Stand By Me and I sang to Jacob the entire time (even though I’m a terrible singer).

OLAS: Did you include any heirlooms or special items in your wedding day? What made you decide to include it/them?

Melissa: Hahaha I don’t know if you’d consider her an heirloom … But I have a stuffed Monkey named Julious that I asked Sara to take a picture of me with. Julious is very “loved” at 18 years young and has been part of my family ever since I got her when I was seven. She’s so very important to me. 🙂

OLAS: What did it feel like to be dressed for your wedding and see yourself, for the first time, before the ceremony?

Melissa: Disbelief. I felt so BEAUTIFUL – the most beautiful I’ve ever felt in my entire life. Jacob, he’s ALWAYS handsome, he just had to get dressed and he looked PERFECT.

OLAS: What did it feel like to see your future spouse for the first time on your wedding day?

Melissa: Calming & complete. Nothing else mattered – no stress, no panic – just absolute and utter bliss.

OLAS: What did you love most about your photographer?

Melissa: Sara was so sweet and FUNNY! She made us laugh, which made it easier to laugh & smile for our pictures! Sara felt like a friend, rather than a vendor.
