Channel Club Wedding :: Alexa + Brian :: with Graham

Describing Alexa + Brian’s gorgeous wedding day at the Channel Club is quite the task.  It was such a JOY to shoot this special couple’s wedding and we were totally obsessed with every detail and all of the special in-between moments… every touch was absolutely unique!

Tell us about your wedding!  How would you describe the overall vibe/feeling of your day?  Anything special that you planned and couldn’t wait to see come together?

Overall, the wedding day was surreal, it was a beautiful day filled with love and support. I play the day’s events back to myself and it’s a mix of a whirlwind moments and memories in slow motion. The weather was touch and go for a while there, but everything worked out beautifully in the end and I wouldn’t have changed a second of the day.

Is there a moment that stands out above the rest, now that you’ve been married for a few weeks?
The moment of the wedding that truly stands out above the rest for me(bride), is when I was walking down the aisle. I do not always love being the center of attention and when my father and I walked through the arch, I was momentarily overwhelmed at the sight of all of our guests. It took me a few steps to finally lock eyes with Brian, but once I did, I felt calm and elated that the day had finally come and we were about to be married.

Brian’s stand out moment was taking pictures on the dock. As a result of the weather that day, the combination of wind, water, and clouds created an amazing backdrop for photographs. It was really cool to see everything come together when we were so worried about the weather.

What did you love most about working with OLAS?
It was wonderful working with Graham. He did an incredible job of keeping everyone calm and attentive during pictures so that the process was smooth and thorough. He also did a fabulous job of keeping the bride calm and occupied when we arrived at the venue to a sky filled with clouds and rain. He, along with the venue’s manager, Fred, and the videographer, Jay, kept an eye on their weather apps and began photos outside as soon as we were in the clear. We could not have asked for a better man for the job!

How, if at all, are you incorporating elements from your wedding into your home or everyday life?  Anything special that you’re excited to keep for years to come?
I am really happy that I chose not to use fresh flower bouquets. My bouquet was a mix of wooden sola flowers, seashells, and starfish. They became keepsakes for both myself and the bridesmaids. My bouquet now resides on my mantle, it’s a lovely reminder of our wedding day.
What does it feel like to finally be married?
Day to day life has not changed much as a result of our marriage, considering we purchased a home together prior to our big day. However, there is a stronger sense of security and a close-knit sense of family that comes with being married. I know that Brian and I will truly always have each other to fall back on and draw strength from in both good times and bad.

Congratulations, Alexa + Brian!  xoxo, The OLAS Team
