“We were both deployed in Honduras in 2016/2017 where I lived a few doors down the hallway, in our military dorm, from him. We became best friends/drinking partners, but denied our feelings for each other for a LONG time, even though everyone else saw it. My last weekend in Honduras a group of us took a trip to an island off the mainland of Honduras and we had a blast and Harrison and I were attached at the hip. Once I was back in the states, we realized we really wanted to be with each other. Then in September 2017, he came to visit me for 3 weeks. During that time we took a trip to Gatlinburg, TN where he “popped the question” while we were on the skyline. Except he got so nervous he actually didn’t even ask (he just had the ring box open and this nervous smile). I didn’t do too hot either, I asked: “Are you sure?!” After our goofs, we kind of just laughed it off and took a second to breathe. Once we got back down to the main street, we immediately went to a moonshine distillery where we celebrated with a biker gang. The next day we eloped. We still wanted to have a ceremony and reception to have all of our family together. They’re very happy for us!”
Congratulations, Olivia + Harrison! xoxo, The OLAS Team
