Chicago Park Engagement Shoot :: Abbe + William :: with Isaac

Abbe + William’s engagement was such a treat!  There’s so much we could say about these two but Abbe said it best so we’ll let her take it away…

“Billy and I met at Indiana University senior year second semester–right before graduation! There are two bars at Indiana that everyone goes to. We hit it off at Kilroys and then during Little 5 Week, we made it official at the other bar, Sports. We both moved to Chicago after college and the rest is history!

We are both OCD in our own special ways: I love organizing and he is a clean-freak! One college night, he had a bunch of people over at his apartment and while he was drunk, he started cleaning up the kitchen and I was so attracted to him–not the first reaction most people have! We always joked that the day he would propose, he would put a towel down before getting down on one knee because he wants to always stay clean! Surprisingly, he didn’t use a towel at all and got down on one knee on the boardwalk overlooking the beautiful skyline of New York! I guess he really loves me to ruin his jeans to propose to me! 🙂
We had a great time at our engagement shoot! We were nervous that it was going to be cold and snowy at the end of October (you never know with Chicago!) and it was definitely still a chilly day but from the photographer’s camera, it was a beautiful sunny day filled with the fall leaves in Chicago. Isaac was fantastic! He made us feel really comfortable and kept reminding us to be ourselves and we loved that because that really captures us as a couple.
We have so many friends and family from all walks of life: college, high school, camp, Chicago, work and family and we are so excited to be surrounded by all of our favorite people on the most important day of our lives! We are also so excited for our kick-ass band–we love to dance and can’t wait to be on the dance floor the whole night!!
I’m super organized and love checking things off my to-do list so this process has been a lot of fun personally (especially when your sister is your wedding planner!). The best thing we did at the very beginning of the process, we created a wedding email that we shared as a couple. It’s a great way to keep track of all of the wedding communication with all of your vendors and you can connect both the bride and groom to the email so they feel like they can both view what’s going on with the wedding and are both involved in the process.”

Congratulations, Abbe + William!  xoxo, The OLAS Team
