Kaylea + Chase met at Marching Band Camp in 8th grade, how adorable! They got very close that year, they talked all the time, snuggled on bus rides, and Chase ended up asking Kaylea to be his girlfriend! She gladly responded “Of course I will,” and so began their romance. Unfortunately the trials of high school tore their relationship apart, but they remained close friends throughout the years. They both went off to different schools, Kaylea to the University of Georgia and Chase to The University of Kentucky, but during their senior year Chase decided to transfer to UGA. At that point they realized that they could not stay away from each other and they rekindled their relationship!
They have been on many trips together over the years but of course their favorite was when they went to New Orleans because that is when Chase asked Kaylea to be his forever! Their love story is utterly adorable and we are so happy for this engaged couple!
We talked to Kaylea after their engagement shoot and asked her about some of their plans for the wedding…
Q: Is there a moment in your dating history that stands out above the rest?
A: “We’ve gone on several vacations and had so many memories together, but one of my favorites was the time we were driving around Athens and turned on The B52’s “Love Shack.” We sang the entire thing at the top of our lungs, and even after parking at Five Points, we didn’t get out of the car until the song was over. There was so much joy, love and happiness in that moment.”
Q: What did you love most about your engagement shoot? Your photographer?
A: “Rebekah immediately felt like a friend. She made us both feel so comfortable. I was nervous the shoot would feel unnatural, but that was so far from the truth. Chase and I had such a wonderful time being ourselves, and we felt like Rebekah completely understood “us” and our spirit. It was a fun and memorable afternoon!”
Q: Any tips for other engaged brides who are hiring their vendors or starting the planning process?
A: “Get to know yourself both as an individual and as a couple before you begin. It will make it so much easier to find vendors and plan your wedding around who the two of you are and what you want versus taking a shot in the dark. And as stressful as things can be, remember you’re marrying the man or woman of your dreams, and while the wedding marks the milestone, it’s every day after the wedding that truly counts in the long run. Keep a healthy perspective, and it’ll all fall together.”
Congratulations Kaylea + Chase!! xoxo, The OLAS Team
