Carolynn + Alex met when they were both attending Boston College and they have been together ever since! They have already experienced so much as a couple. They have seen each other’s graduations, gone through several moves together, and have even been each other’s biggest support systems through first jobs and graduate school! Alex proposed on top of a hotel in Durham, NC which took Carolynn by complete surprise! They have been together over 6 years and are so glad to finally be married!!
We talked to Carolynn a couple weeks after their wedding to see what some of their favorite moments were of the day…
Q: Tell us about your wedding! How would you describe the overall vibe/feeling of your day? Anything special that you planned and couldn’t wait to see come together?
A: “Our wedding was everything I could have dreamed for and more. Because the church was small and the reception was in our backyard, it was beautifully intimate. The entire day was filled with infinite love, energy and passion! Another great part about having our reception in the backyard is that my mom and I were truly able to leave personal details throughout. For example, we hand painted stones for every guest that assigned them their table and at the end of the night, we asked all of our guests to leave their stones on the property, so we could always have them as part of our memory and landscape going forward.”
Q: Is there a moment that stands out above the rest, now that you’ve been married for a few weeks?
A: “There are many moments that stand out, but there is one in particular – Alex and I had a moment on the dance floor singing and dancing to “Wagon Wheel” where it felt like it was just him and I. THAT was the moment that I look back on and feel so amazing to have found the love that we have. We talk about it today and say that was the moment where it both hit us how blessed we are to have so many people that we love come together to celebrate with us.”
Q: What did you love most about working with OLAS?
A: “The OLAS team was professional throughout the entire process. Any question I had along the way was always promptly answered, and Alex & Alex were a DREAM to work with. They made me feel so comfortable and special. I cannot wait to see the final products.”
Q: How, if at all, are you incorporating elements from your wedding into your home or everyday life? Anything special that you’re excited to keep for years to come?
A: “We are using the welcome book as our coffee table book, and I cannot wait to frame the pictures! My bridesmaids also bought me an album that I am excited to design with our pictures.”
