When Ashley + Jake got married on Lookout Mountain in late June, they wanted their wedding to be a warm, casual, and joyous occasion. Our Southeast mega-talent Nikki was there to capture the whole, glorious day, and the photos are nothing short of stunning. Nikki has a knack for capturing pure joy and emotion, and these photos are oozing with love. This is really no surprise when you hear Ashley and Jake’s unique (and awesome) perspective on their wedding: Ashley and Jake have been together and committed to each other for a number of years, and so for them, the next step of a wedding was less about a “big leap” and more about making a formal statement of that love and dedication to one another in front of the friends and family that love and support them. Ashley also says that they ultimately wanted the day to feel less formal and more like them as they are everyday. That means some more traditional moments, such as the bouquet/garter toss or the cake cutting (which don’t have as much meaning for us) were not included. When choosing our wedding parties, Ashley and Jake decided to forget about “matching” sides and instead invite exactly who they wanted. That’s how they ended up with 6 groomsmen, 3 bridesmaids, and 1 bridesman (we so love this!). Of their bridal party, Ashley says they’re all just their best people. 🙂
A + J, it was such an honor to be a part of your big day and to witness and capture the love between you two! xoxo
