Emily + Evan are two adorable lovebirds who were married in early June at the beautiful Carrollton First United Methodist Church, with a fun and relaxed reception at the Bradley Street Train Depot, a really cool venue that is right on the train tracks that run through Carrollton. The train tracks provided the backdrop to Emily + Evan’s couple’s portraits, which turned out to be some of our all time favorite shots! Our ever amazing Paige was there to capture the whole dreamy affair in her own distinct, gorgeous, glowy style. We love so much about Emily + Evan (including the fact that above everything else, they wanted their wedding reception to be a time for their guests to really have fun and enjoy themselves – true Southern hospitality!), but we particularly love the fact that their story has been a long time coming. Here’s how Emily + Evan met, in Emily’s words:
Evan and I met in 2006 at Georgia Tech, it was my freshman year, his sophomore. We had a few mutual friends and saw each other at fraternity and sorority events, but the first time we remember hanging out one on one was February of 2007. We went to a ski resort just outside Asheville, NC with a campus ministry for a weekend trip. One night Evan and I were separated from our group and ended up in the lodge by ourselves. He bought me a hot chocolate, and we sat by the fire talking until our friends came and found us. I had heard Evan was a great guy, but I started to develop a tiny crush on him that night. Fast forward 3 years… Evan and I went on our first official date on March 4, 2010, my senior year (finally!). We had so much fun that we went on a second date the next night. I think we both knew early in our relationship that we were meant for each other, and we weren’t sure how we had gone so long in college without dating. We both feel extremely blessed and thankful to have found each other and can’t wait to spend the rest of our lives together.
Emily + Evan, it was such an honor to be able to there to capture the start of the rest of your lives! We truly adore you guys, and we loved being a part of your beautiful, sincere day. xoxo
