We could spend hours looking at these unbelievable engagement session photos of Heather + Bryan, captured by our ever amazing Southeast photographer, Nikki. Seriously, hours. Maybe it’s due to the fact that we are still slowly coming out of our Thanksgiving food comas, but more likely, we are entranced by this precious couple, their adorable dog (and his announcement!), and the incredible glow in these photos that Nikki is such a master of capturing. H + B will be getting married in March at the lovely Oakhurst Farm, and they are more than ready to tie the knot! Heather tells us their story:
Bryan and I met on December 23, 2007. Our parents were good friends. I was home from college for winter break and Bry was home on leave from the Marine Corps. Our families went out to dinner that night and we both went with them. Bryan sat next to me and by the end of the dinner, I was wearing his jacket and we were making plans to hang out that night. We spent Christmas Eve with our families, but after that we spent every day together until he had to go back to Camp Lejeune. On January 1st, Bryan asked me to be his girlfriend (and of course I couldn’t say no!). He left 2 days later to go back to his base. Bry left for Afghanistan in March of that year for 8 months. The day he got back was one of the most amazing days of my entire life. To finally see his face and give him a kiss after 8 months was so exciting. There’s really nothing like a homecoming. He got out of the military a year later, and we’ve stayed happily together for a total 5 years. We’ve made it through a long distance relationship, a deployment, the loss of friends, and all of the normal ups and downs of a relationship and our relationship has only grown stronger. He’s the love of my life and my best friend in the whole world and I know (and he agrees :)) that we are supposed to grow old together. We truly can’t wait to make this thing official in March!
We really can’t wait, either, H + B! We had such a great time with you and your pup, and we love the story of the two of you. Bryan, thank you so much for your service to our country. We are so grateful for you both, and we cannot wait to see you again in just a few short months! xoxo
