Today, we are sharing with you the absolutely beautiful wedding of Jessica + Clint, who happen to be two amazing people who study lizards. J + C are both biologists and they met while studying desert lizards in Oregon. Their stunning wedding, captured by our amazing West Coast team, features so many awesome, personal, and sometimes quirky details (that incorporate lizards!) that we are bursting at the seams to share it with you. Jessica + Clint were married at a Jessica’s grandmother’s home in Murphys, California, and their theme for the entire event was a bit of “the South meets California wine country” (Clint is from Georgia, Jessica from California). They served their guests delicious Southern food and desserts including boiled peanuts, fried green tomatoes, butter beans, black eyed peas, fried chicken, red velvet cake, and peach pie in a mason jar! Their decor perfectly combined the charms of both lowcountry Georgia and the wine country of California: they had wine barrels set up for tables during cocktail hour, and the yard features a beautiful Savannah style fountain. J + C tied in their professions by naming each table at their reception after a lizard species they have studied, and each table featured a photo and some information about that particular lizard (speaking of the tables at the reception, how AMAZING is their backyard reception setup!??!). J + C’s advisor from grad school also served as the officiant for the ceremony. Clint proposed to Jessica while canoeing down Ebenezer Creek in southeast Georgia, and these two gave a nod to this special moment in their lives by using a canoe as their gift table. There are so, so many more amazing details we could talk about forever from this wedding, but the best way we can share them with you is for you to see them yourself – just make sure not to miss the superhero boutonnieres! Jessica + Clint, you guys are absolutely awesome and your wedding was one of the most unique and personal we have ever seen! Thank you so, so much for giving us the honor of capturing your beautiful day! xoxo
