Katie and Alec are so, so, so meant to be…just try and listen to their love story and disagree with us! The two met through Katie’s freshman roommate in college at the Shorter University. Katie’s roommate (Erin) had grown up in the same town as Alec, and so he and another friend used to come up and visit her on weekends where the four of them would end up hanging out, playing pranks on each other, and telling corny jokes (is there a better way to get to know people?). 😉 The following year Alec moved away to go to Colorado for film school, and they didn’t have any contact for the next THREE YEARS. Nearing graduation, Katie decided to apply for a summer missionary position, hoping she would get Savannah, GA…but actually got placed in Colorado! When Erin heard that Katie had been placed in Colorado, she reminder her of Alec and told her they should definitely hang out. K admits that it probably wouldn’t have ever happened, except that amazingly, the exact same day that she was flying into Colorado to start her summer internship, Erin was driving through Colorado on a road trip – planning to visit Alec! Then there’s the fact that Alec actually worked at the airport, so he and Erin were able to meet Katie the minute she set foot on Colorado ground (see what we mean about being meant to be?!). They spent the rest of the summer hanging out, dating, and have been together ever since. Alec has since graduated and moved back to GA, and the two are planning a beautiful Fall wedding for this November – we can’t wait!! Our phenom photog, Paige, met up with them in Athens, GA for their engagement session, and we can’t get over how super sweet they are together in these photos.
