First thing you need to know about Liz + Jacob? They LOVE the South. We adore the way Liz describes it: “The way I see it, the places we grew up combined with our families made us who we are today. Essentially, they produced the person Jacob and I fell in love with.” Love. Second thing you need to know about Liz + Jacob? Aside from the southern roots, they couldn’t be more different if they tried! She’s never met a stranger, he’s shy. She tans, he burns. She argues, he’s the peace-keeper. She hates science, and he wants to be a doctor. Before they met she rarely dated anyone over 4 weeks, and he had never dated anyone less than a year. The one thing they do definitely agree on? That neither could ever imagine a life without the other. 🙂 Check out their engagement story as told in their own sweet words, below:
“He asked me to marry him on November 23, 2012 in the New Orleans City Park. Christmas lights are my favorite thing about the holiday season, so he took me to walk through their lights show. I was so excited to watch The Cajun Night Before Christmas in lights. I sat down and the minute it started he told me we had to go meet one of his friends. I got mad and wouldn’t talk to him or hold his hand. The next thing I know he’s telling me that he loves me 2 times and is down on one knee. He was awkward. I was mad. I couldn’t have asked for a proposal that was more ‘us’. We’ve traveled over 40,000 miles to see each other since August 2011. In that time I’ve taught him to appreciate the Atlanta Braves, Harry Potter, fried okra, Star Wars, and Project Runway. He’s taught me how to use a play station, pronounce the elements of the periodic table and introduced me to frozen cafe au lait. He makes me laugh. He calms me down. He doesn’t care when I take an hour to get ready or that I can’t sit still for 5 minutes. He calls me beautiful every day, and I know he sees me through Jesus’s eyes. That’s why I know this is forever.”
