Mary + Dan’s engagement shoot at Dan’s family lakehouse in Genoa City, WI was like being on a peaceful retreat! The scenery was gorgeous and really let these two be the focus. Their fur baby, Buddy, was also quite photogenic.
Their May wedding will be here before we know and we’re so glad we took a moment to capture them during this busy and changing season of their lives!
How did you and your partner meet?
Dan and I met at work. We were friends for a few years and then very slowly started to get to know each other more and finally went on a date. 🙂
Is there a moment in your dating history that stands out above the rest?
After only a few short weeks of dating, somehow he thought I broke up with him and I thought he broke up with me. We missed our first NYE together because of the miscommunication and after realizing we were both on the wrong page, I remember looking at him and he smiled so big – It matched exactly how excited and lucky I felt at that moment.
What did you love most about your engagement shoot? Your photographer?
I loved how much we laughed and how cold it was. It was easy to snuggle together in that cold!! Our photographer also did a great job of making us feel really comfortable and laugh! I didn’t feel nearly as uncomfortable as I thought I would have been!
What are you most looking forward to about your wedding?
Walking to Dan down the aisle – I can’t wait. Also, I can’t wait to have everyone we love in one room to support us and have fun!
Any tips for other engaged brides who are hiring their vendors (photographers, planners, caterers, etc.) or starting the planning process?
Make sure you choose vendors/people who are genuine and passionate about their jobs. It’s so much more exciting working with a team of people who are just as happy and excited as you (or close, anyways!).
