Lauren + Jared’s wedding was at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center in Austin, Texas, a modern and yet also rustic site which effortlessly ties together modern architecture with its beautiful natural surroundings. While Lauren currently lives in Atlanta, she is originally from Austin and really wanted to return to her roots for their wedding. As both design & nature lovers (Lauren is an architect and Jared is a designer!), L + J couldn’t have found a more perfect site for their big day. They really wanted it to have an overall modern aesthetic, but with a twist of vintage whimsy as well. We OLAS-ers were immediately on board with that! 😉 Lauren also wanted to celebrate her Italian heritage and culture, so the stone architecture and overall rustic nature of the venue (complete with string lights above the outdoor ceremony space!) fit in just perfectly. They completed the look with colors of mint & rosemary green, gray – black, and then white and metallic gold. They incorporated these colors in flowers which were seasonal and locally sourced (love this!!), as well as in the bridemaids dresses, gold flatware, & mint green striped straws. Another way they displayed their love of vintage and european culture was by using beautiful antique “skeleton keys” as escort cards! We love this description of what they were hoping to achieve from Lauren: “We’re going for part garden party, part Italian family reunion and part mega dance party!”. Check, check, and check! 🙂 We flew our oh-so-talented-Tyler, one of our southeast photogs, out to Austin to capture the whole thing, and we just love the way he used the architecture of the venue throughout (the first glance & couples photos are STUNNING). The whole event was truly magical, and we’re so blown away by how beautifully Tyler was able to capture each and every piece.
