Did you include any heirlooms or special items in your wedding day? What made you decide to include it/them?
I included a single white rose for both sets of my grandparents, Patrick’s grandmother and grandfather, and my aunt who are no longer with us with a ribbon tied around them with their names on them. My ring bearers carried them up the aisle and laid them in a vase with a sign that said, “In loving memory of those who are forever in our hearts today and always.” It was so important to me to include them all in some way as they all are near and dear to us. I also included photo charms on my bouquet of both sets of my grandparents and my Aunt Charlcie so I could carry them with me throughout the day. My something old was also one of my Aunt Charlcie’s handkerchiefs that was attached to my bouquet.
Every piece of our decor was touched and created in love by someone we love dearly, including them all was so important to me.
What did it feel like to see your future spouse for the first time on your wedding day?
Doing a first look was something Patrick and I had went back and forth on during the planning process but I am so glad we decided to do it! As the day progressed through getting ready and making sure everyone knew about the final plans I grew more and more nervous and hopeful that the day would go smoothly. Once I saw Patrick all the worry just melted away. I realized how truly blessed I was to be marrying this wonderful man and was truly able to take everything in and enjoy such a beautiful perfect day. It was a moment I will always cherish. ![]() |
