Allison + Dan’s wedding was just… WOW!!! Planning a New Year’s Eve wedding can be stressful but not only did these two do it with what seemed like ease but it was a total party, from start to finish, and blew all of our expectations out of the water. We could say so much but we feel like Allison + Dan really captured the day in words…
How would you describe the overall vibe/feeling of your day?
Allison: It was absolutely electric. From the second we woke up on New Year’s Eve day, to the final countdown of 2017, to the first few seconds of 2018 – it was just pure happiness. Happiness so palpable it was electric. There was a lot of laughter, excitement, and love.
Dan: Surreal. I felt an unparalleled feeling of love from every single person I encountered. It was the best day of my life.
Was there a moment of your day that stands out the most?
Allison: A single moment? No. A lot of little vignettes. Getting ready with my best friends who traveled near and far to be with me; the first look (outside!) with my husband; a quiet moment goofing around with my Dad before we walked down the aisle; listening to each carefully crafted, loving speech; our first dance – La Vie En Rose; the amazing band that brought down the house…and lastly, watching the fireworks at midnight with my new husband by my side.
Dan: Getting my look ready with my Groomsmen, watching the Patriots game, standing out on the balcony with my brother and best man overlooking Faneuil Hall as I was hours away from marrying the woman of my dreams had me feeling verklempt. I don’t think I’ve ever had those six men together in the same room and the camaraderie was better than I could have imagined. I felt confident that everything that day would go perfectly and it did.
What part of your day would you love to relive, over and over again?
Allison: The entire wedding reception! Our band read the crowd expertly, and I don’t think a single person left the dancefloor until the final dance. It was exhilarating.
Dan: The reception was a blast. Having a live band amped up the party considerably. I felt validated for all the time and money we invested into organizing the event. If I could relive any moment, it would be hitting the dance floor after the cutting of the cake with ‘Lovely Day’ by Bill Withers radiating from the speakers.
What does it feel like to finally be married?
Allison: I didn’t expect there to be much of a change – we’ve been together for over six years – but I was wrong. Our relationship did change but in the most subtle, sweet ways. The honeymoon period is *real* and we’re loving it.
Dan: Accomplished. I am still getting used to the feeling of the ring on my finger and calling Allison my wife, but the fact that this is my new reality makes me really proud.
How would you describe your experience with OLAS?
How would you describe your experience with OLAS?
Allison: A piece of cake! The process could not be more simple – which really made a difference, especially during the more hectic or stressful times during the overall wedding planning process. We also loved working with our photographers, Kait and Graham (he did our engagement shoot) – I cannot tell you how many compliments I’ve received on our pictures from last winter.
Dan: Professional. I felt like OLAS knew what they were doing at all times and everything was under control. Using OLAS made the day stress-free.
Congratulations, Allison + Dan! xoxo, The OLAS Team
