Piedmont Park Engagement Shoot with Lexi + Jacob :: with Jen

What a classic, Southern love story!  Boy meets girl and the rest, as they say, is history!

Here’s how they met and how Jacob proposed:

“We were set up at a wedding! My sorority little sister was the bride and his friend was the groom, and they set us up at the reception. Jacob knew about the plan, but I didn’t and it was a total surprise to meet such a wonderful man! We went to the wedding after-party at a nearby pub on Fayetteville square and talked for hours! He asked for my number and we went on our first date a few weeks later. Our first date was wonderful and we spent many more hours talking and finding more things in common. Our birthdays are even next to each other: mine is 4/11 and Jacob’s is 4/12! At that moment, I knew it was meant to be.We have been dating for about a year and a half, and Jacob just proposed on 10/29. My favorite holiday is Halloween, and he took me to a pumpkin farm for a festive date. He brought along his fancy camera so we could take nice photos. We went into the farm’s corn maze to take Christmas card photos (or so I thought), but Jacob had the ring in his camera bag the whole time. We went to a secluded part of the maze and set up the camera. Then Jacob said he forgot one more thing, took the ring out of the bag, and got down on one knee to propose! I was totally surprised! We had been designing the ring with our jeweler and I thought it would be weeks before it was ready. Jacob said he didn’t know something was missing from his life before he met me, but now he knows he can’t live without me. Then, he asked me to marry him. Of course, I said Yes!
