Roswell, Ga Wedding at Roswell River Landing :: Jennifer + Christopher :: With Alex

Jennifer + Chris met during their first year of pharmacy school at UGA. They both pledged the same pharmacy fraternity and after their first year they got assigned to pharmacies that were right down the street from each other. They started hanging out more and realized how well they got along and how much they had in common! At the time one of Jennifer’s best friends was getting married so once her original date fell through she asked Chris if he would go with her! He said yes and they started dating shortly after that. Jennifer said that “What started out as a backup plus one for a wedding turned into someone who has my back for life!”

Their love story is absolutely adorable and their wedding was nothing short of amazing! We wanted to hear about some of their favorite memories of the wedding so we got in touch with Jennifer and asked her some questions…

Q: Tell us about your wedding!  How would you describe the overall vibe/feeling of your day?  Anything special that you planned and couldn’t wait to see come together?

A: “Chris and I were a little nervous on the day of our wedding day, mainly because of the weather. A tropical storm was brewing in our area, and we weren’t sure if the rain was going to hold out long enough for our outdoor ceremony. We picked the venue over a year ago because of the beautiful deck overlooking the river where we’ve gone kayaking before when we were still dating. As a matter of fact, it started drizzling that morning, but the rain stopped before the ceremony began. Everything was set up beautifully by our wedding planner. The space was smaller, which gave it a more intimate feel while we celebrated with our family and friends.
Chris’ dad, John, had built a magnificent arbor from scratch. We saw the pieces while he was building it this past year. When we saw it completely assembled at the venue, it took our breath away. It was incredibly beautiful, and we were so awestruck on how he came up with it when I had literally shown him only two pictures from Pinterest. Our guests had so much fun taking pictures in front of it.”
Q: Is there a moment that stands out above the rest, now that you’ve been married for a few weeks?
A: “Besides the “first look” and the way my soon-to-be husband looked at me, I would say probably the tea ceremony. I come from a very traditional family that wanted me to marry someone from the same culture, but it’s true that you can’t help who you fall in love with. The fact that we were able to incorporate a piece of my culture into the ceremony made it more special.”
Q: What’s your favorite thing that you decided to include or spend money on?
A: “I’m so glad we hired a wedding planner. Planning a wedding is a very daunting task, and I knew that I needed some help with it since I’m not the most organized person. Courtney, our wedding planner, made sure we stayed on track and didn’t forget the little details. She also did a wonderful job with the decor. It turned out so classy and romantic, exactly what I wanted. My other favorite thing that we spent money on is the wedding photography (and I haven’t even seen our pictures yet!). I know that Chris and I will both remember our wedding day for a long, long time. But when we grow old and things start becoming a blur or slipping away, we will still have the pictures as a reminder of the best day of our lives.”
Q: What did you love most about working with OLAS?
A: “Everyone on the OLAS team we worked with were incredibly professional and genuinely excited about our wedding. We absolutely loved working with our photographer, Alex. Chris and I are both very shy in front of cameras, but Alex made us feel very comfortable. He has such an incredible amount of enthusiasm and energy. Our guests really liked him too. It’s clear that he’s very passionate about what he does.”
Q: What does it feel like to finally be married?
A: “We’re so relieved! Planning the wedding was a bit stressful, but we had a great time on our wedding day. Being able to share our special day with our loved ones was totally worth it.”
Congratulations Jennifer + Christopher!! xoxo, The OLAS Team
