WOW, Jill + Justin’s wedding so tender and personal… beautiful in the details but even moreso in all of the romantic moments throughout the day. There’s so much we could say about their day but we’ll let Jill say it best…
Tell us about your wedding! How would you describe the overall vibe/feeling of your day? Anything special that you planned and couldn’t wait to see come together?
On the days leading up to my wedding, I was surprisingly calm… the morning of my wedding I was a ball of nerves and very emotional. My mom passed 2 years ago so it finally hit home that she wasn’t going to be there to see me get married but I had the support of my Dad and my Aunt Barbara along with Justin to get me through the day. My aunt and I work on creating my mom’s memory table so I was very excited to see it all put together.
Getting into the limo and heading toward the church, I was feeling nervous but happy. The ceremony went by as a blur; however, I remember thinking that this is really happening while standing there looking at my future husband – I knew he was the one for me and that I could spend my life with him… No doubts for me! Of course, a day without a little craze is never in my future – so naturally, as Justin was giving me his left hand I swatted it down and put his ring on the wrong finger during the exchange of rings. And true to form Justin and I just looked at each other and laughed… Laughter, love, fun and some craziness is a big part of who we are together.
Once officially Mrs. Sylvia, it was as if the day flew by in a matter of minutes… we got to the reception which was in full swing with my family and friends all around. I felt overwhelmed but so very touched to see so many there celebrating this day with us. I remember dancing and laughing and simply enjoying the day.
Is there a moment that stands out above the rest, now that you’ve been married for a few weeks?
I don’t know of any moment that stands out more than the rest. The whole day was surreal in itself. I had been engaged for over 2 years and to finally be able to call Justin my husband is amazing.
What’s your favorite thing that you decided to include or spend money on?
My favorite would have to be a videographer. I wanted something to look back on and watch and hear the most important parts of the day. I decided to spend the money because of losing my mother. My parents had a videographer at their wedding and now that’s something that my father will cherish and I wanted the same.
What did you love most about working with OLAS?
When working with Alicia and the planning process she was super helpful in helping me establish my timeline. I found this to also help me with my other vendors.
How, if at all, are you incorporating elements from your wedding into your home or everyday life? Anything special that you’re excited to keep for years to come?
A few of the wedding shower gifts are on display at our house and for the reception, everyone signed a canvas that we will be hanging in our living area. It is something to show us all the family and friends that came to celebrate our love and we will be able to cherish it for years to come.
