SNEAK PEEK :: Ali + Carlo's Wedding at The Hotel Marlowe in Cambridge, MA :: with Graham

What was the most surprising thing about your wedding :: Leading up to our wedding I kept thinking about how much fun our cocktail hour, reception, and partying would be, while feeling anxious about the ceremony. The ceremony was a complicated endeavor, organizing four sets of parents, having to read out our vows in front of everyone we know, and not repeating any of the numerous mistakes from our rehearsal. Little did I know it would be one of the most memorable and personalized aspects of the wedding. Seeing my bride walk down the aisle and join me I felt a sense of excitement and love. Our vows drew laughter from those that knew us and even played off of the same inside jokes despite us never discussing our vows prior to the ceremony. Finally, we said I do, were made man and wife, and I went to stomp on our glass only to hear a thud in place of the satisfying crunch. It took me a mere one second to commit the first mistake of our marriage: I had managed to miss the glass. With a red face, I stomped again, barely hearing the expected crunch over the laughter filling the room. These little mistakes and moments are what I will remember in the years to come. The mistakes that make us who we are and create the moments we share. – Carlo

What was your favorite detail from your wedding day :: I had a few favorite details. The first were our centerpieces, made out of foam pumpkin, LED pillar candles, and fake leaf garlands that Carlo had painstakingly put together. They brought the room together so nicely! I also loved our “s’more love to share” favors, which our amazing friend Sarah put together for all of our guests, and looked adorable on the tables. And, finally, our friend Jess and her boyfriend created a life-size cut-out of our cat, Leo, mounted on cardboard to be used as a prop for photobooth pictures. Needless to say, Leo became the star of the wedding!
