SNEAK PEEK :: Brandi + Patrick’s Perfectly Southern Wedding at the Big Canoe Chapel & Clubhouse :: with Nikki

Happy Friday lovelies!  We’ve got such a fun sneak peek for y’all today – it’s full of the sweetest southern charm in all the best possible ways.  Brandi and Patrick have always considered themselves to be very southern – from B’s tractor riding father, to P’s undeniable southern drawl, they knew their wedding would have to incorporate as many fun little southern details as possible.  For starters, they decided to have their wedding weekend in Big Canoe, GA (a beautiful mountain resort), and so we sent our amazing southeast photographer, Nikki, up to capture it all (and boy did she!).  We absolutely love all of the adorable ways they chose to show their roots, a few of our favorites being: the 1979 red Ford truck groom’s cake (an exact replica of his very first car & family heirloom), and the little mason jars of moonshine as wedding favors displayed with the cutest little sign saying “thank you for helping our love shine.”  LOVE.  There are so many sweet and unique details we could talk about further, but we just had to leave you with B + P’s proposal story – just when we thought we couldn’t love them more.  😉

“Brandi and I had officially been dating for three years on Thursday, January 17th, 2013. We decided to celebrate our anniversary the following night, and had made plans to go to dinner at Two Urban Licks. I told her we were just going to dinner, as I was doing my best to play it down. Looking back on my actions, I believe I may have been playing it down a little too much, but I wanted so bad for this to be a complete surprise. That Thursday, on our actual anniversary, I told Brandi I had made plans to go to dinner with my brother and friend Michael. I was not surprised that she wasn’t too excited to hear that I had made plans to “go out with the guys”on our anniversary. Because she was upset with me, I then told her I actually had to go buy her a present. She still wasn’t too pleased with this story, but this seemed to stir up less of a reaction. The truth is I actually went over to Michael’s house to prepare for the next night. Michael and my brother, Chris, helped me begin the most complicated part of my plan, which included rope light and pvc pipe to create what I hoped would be the perfect proposal surprise.
After many months of planning and a few sleepless nights, the time was finally here. The following night I took Brandi to Two Urban Licks where she proceeded to ask if this was going to be the best present she had ever received from me. I told her it would not be the worst; since I did not get her anything on our first year anniversary (she said she did not want anything, which I later figured out was not the truth). I continued to downplay the gift I had for her, which immediately caused her to start pouting. She lectured me the entire ride home about the importance of gift giving was planning, and that I can’t expect to get the best gifts when I purchase them the night before our anniversary. Little did she know, I had my brother at the house setting up the proposal sign and preparing for the best gift of her life.
When we got home, I immediately suggested we exchange gifts, her eye roll indicated she was less than thrilled. I blindfolded her and started walking her outside. I grabbed the ring and turned on the sign. I then took her blindfold off, and got down on one knee. I don’t remember much from this point forward. I had planned what I was going to say, but when I got down on my knee the only words that I remember coming out were “Brandi Elizabeth Hall, will you marry me?”. I received the best news of my life when she immediately started crying and said YES!”

B + P, we have absolutely loved getting to know you two each step of the way, and couldn’t be more thrilled to share a few of our very favorite photos from your beautiful wedding day!  We hope you love your sneak peek, and we can’t wait to share the rest with you super soon!  xoxo!

p.s. for a sweet look back, be sure to check out B + P’s gorgeous engagement session!
